Private Lessons

It's impossible to become a great musician over night, especially if you're trying to learn on your own. Having your own personal teacher gives you a 1 on 1 chance to ask the questions you want to know, and have someone demonstrate live what you're trying to accomplish. Remember that everything has to be WORK before it can be fun. I've always said the more you practice the better you get, the better you get the more you like to practice. It's a vicious cycle that will have you playing your favorite songs and writing your own in no time!

Private lessons are offered 7 days a week after 5pm in flexible time slots just for your convenience. Your time slot may be doubled as well if you'd prefer your lesson biweekly. Lesson payments are paid one month in advance and fees are collected at the first of the month. Books and equipment are purchased separately.

Guitar - Beginner - Intermediate - Ages 12 & up
As a beginning guitar student, you'll learn aboutthe "idea" of guitar and work through the steps of understanding the concepts of single notes, small melodies, and the beginning stages of becoming comfortable with your instrument. As you gradually work your way up, you'll be introduced to standard chords, simple chord progressions, and rhythm patterns that thousands of songs are composed of. As an intermediate student, you'll learn barred and upper partial chords, basic scales, and we'll start working on playing songs you'd like to learn.

Drums - Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced - Ages 10 & up
Younger students begin reading notation. This is generally required for the school band. If the student is taking lessons specifically for school band, I'll teach them through the recommended school workbook. Beginner students wishing to play drumset will begin with small coordination exercises, then move on to full basic patterns. I usually tease students about being able to play 3,000 songs by the end of their first lesson. The truth is... I'm being honest! Advanced students will learn very syncopated patterns, learn to play fluidly in different time signatures and focus more on genre specific techniques.

Bass Guitar - Beginner - Intermediate
Beginner students will learn the MUSTS to bass guitar. Starting with time keeping, 1-4-5 single note movements, and 5 note scales. Intermediate students will learn how to build independant note movements within chord movements, and focus more on bass walking and runs.
